I LOVE brushes!

Posted by on Dec 25, 2013 in I LOVE brushes!, Reviews | 0 comments

Hello all!!

I’m here to talk about my favorite drugstore brushes.  I have a few different brushes by Ecotools that I just love, the powder brush being my favorite one! Not only are they good quality brushes, but they’re also earth-friendly and super stylish.  They’re made of bamboo, recycled aluminum and soft bristles that don’t shed.  And the best part is that they’re VERY AFFORDABLE and a GREAT choice for people that want good, but cheap brushes for everyday use.

****The brush kits cost anywhere from US$7.99 – US$15.99, and some of the brushes are sold separately as well.

Sigmax Precision Kit 5 Brushes Review

Posted by on Dec 24, 2013 in I LOVE brushes!, Reviews | 0 comments

Hello everyone!!

I am here to talk about my favorite name brand for brushes, Sigma!! Yaaaayyyy!!

This time I wanted to share my thoughts on this kit that works wonders and that I LOVE! (Yes, I LOVE every brush that I own by Sigma!)

I think this is a great kit to conceal and correct the different areas of your face, as well as apply creme shadow, eye base or eye primer.  The brushes are of great quality, pick up product without wasting it and don’t shed.  In addition, they are soft but dense, therefore giving you an air brushed look.

You can always use your fingers to do all of this, however, I believe the brushes will give you a more flawless finish.

I like and use of all these brushes, but my favorite one is the Precision Tapered P86 brush, which I use to apply concealer around my eyes and nose every day.  It is just perfect for that!!

Sigma’s website brush description:

P80 – Precision Flat™: Stipple concealer on sun spots, blemishes, and other small imperfections.

P82 – Precision Round™: Apply eye shadow base or primer onto the lid.

P84 – Precision Angled™: Apply product to areas such as the sides of the nose and the hollows of the cheeks.

P86 – Precision Tapered™: Exact placement of concealer in harder to reach areas such as around the eyes and nose, chin, and around the mouth.

P88 – Precision Flat Angled™: Use for precise application of concealer products anywhere on the face. Works particularly well around the eyes and nose.

So, I do think this is a luxury, as you may use your fingers to do the work, but they are totally worth it if you’re willing to indulge yourself!

****This kit costs US$72.00 at Sigma stores or online.

I hope this helps you decide whether or not this is the right kit for you.

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Crayon color Hot Damn Review

Posted by on Dec 24, 2013 in I LOVE brushes! | 0 comments

Hello Loves!!!

I received this beautiful lip crayon in my November 2013 Glam Bag and I love it!!

The color is a beautiful bright red shade with some orange hues in it.   It is matte, but with a creamy texture that didn’t moisture nor dry my lips. It has good coverage and one swipe covered my lips very decently.  It has the texture of a lipstick rather than a lip balm and it isn’t sheer.

As far as the duration, it was ok.  The lipstick smudged on my glass of water every time I took a sip and it was totally gone after I ate lunch, three hours after I had first applied it.

All in all, it is a good lip crayon as the low wear doesn’t bother me.  I rather touch it up  here and there than have dry lips.

*****It costs $14.00 and you can find it at Be A Bombshell’s website and online.

Sedona Lace 12 Professional Makeup Brush Set Pink Review

Posted by on Dec 23, 2013 in I LOVE brushes!, Reviews | 0 comments

Hello my loves!!!

Today I’d like to talk about this brush set because I find it to be a good, cheaper alternative to the Sigma Essential kits.  It has twelve brushes that are the same exact brushes as the ones offered by Sigma.  The handles are long, with a light pink dull finish, and are a wee-bit longer than the Sigma ones.  The bristles are soft and one difference that I noticed was that the pencil brush by Sigma is a little pointier than the one from Sedona Lace.  They shed a tiny bit, nothing major, and for less than half of the price of the Sigma ones, I totally think they are worth it.

The major difference between both sets (Sigma’s and Sedona Lace’s) is that the first one comes in a container while the second set comes is a light pink brush roll (a vey nice one!).

Sedona Lace’s website description of the brushes in this kit:

Powder Brush 376

Duo Fibre Brush 813

Foundation Brush 727

Large Angled Contour Brush 850

Concealer Brush 954

 Medium Angled Shading Brush 407

Small Angled Brush 561

Large Shader Brush 941

Tapered Blending Brush 863

Pencil Brush 904

Eye Shading Brush 305

Eyeliner Brush 772

So if you’re looking to buy a good set of brushes, but don’t want to spend tons, this is the perfect set for you.

****This set costs US$69.95 and you can find it on their website or online.

Sorry for the very loooong review, but I thought it was important to put the brushes descriptions, which is what made it so long.

Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Essentials Review

Posted by on Dec 22, 2013 in I LOVE brushes!, Reviews | 0 comments

Hello my loves!

Are you looking to start your Mac collection or build up your existing one? If so, this is the time to get started.

Every year around the holiday season, Mac launches limited holiday collections among other collections (that are always a good deal) so it’s worth waiting all year long for them.

I didn’t own any Mac brushes before simply because I didn’t feel like spending so much per brush, even thought they are really good quality brushes. This set costs $49.50 versus $53.00 for the 134 Large Powder Brush. (Just for the sake of comparison J)

It includes five basic brushes that are soft, don’t shed and do good job giving you a beautiful makeup look!

The only thing is I’d rather use the 193SE Angled Foundation brush to apply concealer.

The set includes:

168SE Large Angled Contour Brush

193SE Angled Foundation Brush

212SE Flat Definer Brush

217SE Blending Brush

239SE Eye Shader Brush

Limited-edition black Stroke of Midnight bag features a chic graphic white pattern, elegantly edged with gold piping.

**** Available at MAC stores, website and counters.

Kabuki Brushes

Posted by on Dec 20, 2013 in I LOVE brushes!, Reviews | 0 comments

Hello everyone!!

I am here to talk about these cute little, super short-handle brushes that I adore! While many people use kabuki brushes to apply mineral foundation, these little cuties can be used for many different things.  They can be used to apply facial makeup such as compact powder, loose powder, blush, bronzer, as well as shimmer to the body.

Very dense kabuki’s will give you more coverage and the less dense, fluffier kabuki’s will give you a softer look.

Kabuki brushes are one of the most versatile brushes.  I personally use mine as a buffer brush to blend my blush as well as my liquid foundation.  In both cases the brush gives me that flawless natural look.
